English Whether it’s Ben Stiller and his gang or Adam Sandler and his gang, I never really know what to expect from their new movies. Sometimes it’s better, other times it’s worse. But even so, the humor remains the same. It’s all about the idea. The idea wasn’t completely bad here, but I thought that it was half-assed. There are only a few good lines and the characters don’t exactly put on a show. For example, someone like Moss from IT Crowd would deserve more lines than just those he delivered in this movie. It’s a movie for a single watching, but definitely nothing memorable. And yet, it would have been so easy to make it good. The boys were so happy about Shaun of the Dead, and how did that turn out? English An overly and completely unnecessarily vulgar and desperately unfunny film that didn't deserve Ben Stiller. I chuckled a couple of times, yes, but otherwise it was a parade of cheesy and embarrassing moments. ()

English How will Stiller and his gang compare to Ferrell and Galifianakis? I have watched two comedies from people who often work together. Both films are a mess, but it's true that "Neighborhood Watch" appealed to me a bit more. Neighborhood defense is always a bit of a problem because it depends on how far it goes. In the case of the movie "Neighborhood War," we do not have to worry about it going too deep, maybe far away, but the problems that are addressed here are superficial. That's what it's all about, right? "Neighborhood Watch" does not actually protect the area from dangerous people, although they think so, but from aliens. Well, yeah, that is cool. Defense against UFOs, moreover presented as a comedy. But it's not such a good comedy. It's like the movie "Elect Me!" There are a few good lines, a few good scenes, but the rest of the movie is somehow dull, pointless. Stiller, Vaughn, Hill, and Avoade were a good choice, but the topic is kind of worn out. "Attack on the Skyscraper" was much better, dealing with basically the same thing, except teenagers and Nick Frost were the defenders. "Neighborhood Watch" is a view for one afternoon, where strange characters appear, you won't laugh at the weird jokes, and in the end, you'll realize that you just watched something that certainly didn't change your life. But unfortunately, it didn't even succeed for the moment you were watching the film. Entertainment is supposed to be entertaining, and that has been a big problem in most American films for a long time, that dare to call themselves comedies. English A few decent jokes and a good soundtrack lift this Ben Stiller-driven absurdity from the gutter to at least average. One viewing was enough for me, but I will definitely not include The Watch among my favorite comedies. (50%) ()
