Play Your Own Thing – that's the mantra of a kind of music whose interpretation explores its boundaries and seeks its own voice. At the end of the Second World War, American GIs brought jazz to Europe. In clubs that lay between ruins, the start of a new, different time could also be sensed musically. This film is a journey to the roots, beginnings and transformation of jazz in Europe. Accompanied by well-known musicians and artists from various European countries, from east and west, north and south, the film listens carefully to the sound of European jazz and to the thoughts of its representatives and friends.
