Luke, 25, is autistic and lives a sheltered life with his grandparents. But his world is suddenly turned upside down when his grandmother dies and he is forced to live with his dysfunctional relatives who have no patience for him or his senile grandfather, who they quickly force into a nursing home. Sure, why worry? Luke might be autistic, but he’d love to find himself a girlfriend. The first one dumped him, but according to his own words, there still are 3.7 billion of them, so he’ll surely find one. Lou Taylor Pucci played Luke very well, in a human, ordinary way and with the exact amount of silliness I would have imagined. Luke might not be a genius – or Forrest Gump, but when asked, he’ll cook you 24 meals that his grandma taught him. And when it comes to this movie, that’s worth a taste, isn’t it?
