Plots(1)

A woman shut herself from the world, stopped communicating and took refuge in bed when her grandson, Thomas, mysteriously disappeared in a forest three years ago. In order to make her talk again, her daughter resorts to a painful provocation – she explains the circumstances of Thomas' disappearance, and the fact that she was somehow involved in it as well. The film, set in the 1920s, takes place entirely within a cold villa covered in snow, with only two characters. Mark Ther created a raw, disconcerting psychological drama that draws not only from the constrained atmosphere emphasised by naturalistic details, but primarily from minimalist yet remarkably deep acting performances.
