This strongly nationalistic 1943 film with the attributes of anti-Soviet propaganda could not be screened in Finland because of "finlandisation" - the politics of conciliatory relationships with the Soviet Union after WWII. Dedicated to Finnish mothers / war widows, the film praises the sacrificing oneself for one's country. (Summer Film School)
