Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp, a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a good family movie that’s also a pile of nonsense at the same time. In the good sense of the word. ()
Lately, we have been getting a lot of movies with monsters in the main role, but I must say that the film "Monster Trucks" is one of the weaker ones. The monster itself is beautiful, digitally well-executed, but the live actors are not great, which is due to the naive and predictable story. What a shame. ()
