A film inscribed into the great Quebecoise film tradition of the 60s and the 70s, which favors an interest to portray the proletarian, the land displaced, and the working man’s culture. A strange gaze to the landscape of the province of Quebec through the eyes of a maritime technician who emigrated from the Ivory Coast and is confined during the winter in a village in North Canada due to a breakdown of the ship where he works. He is lodged by a woman who, like him, is striving to support herself and her daughter day after day. This socio-political film offers a reflection on labor, exploitation, and resistance.
