Father Came Too!

After an idyllic honeymoon Dexter and Juliet have nowhere to live. Juliet persuades Dexter to stay with her adored and adoring father, a well-known actor, Sir Beverley Grant. Dexter, driven to distraction by Sir Beverley, and helped by the local agent with acting ambitions, finds Rose Cottage. He and Juliet buy it hastily and then run into difficulties. Sir Beverley wants to do it up and the local builder's estimate for repairs is exorbitant. Dexter loses his job and Juliet goes home to father. They are saved by a fire and a demolition plan, whilst Sir Beverley finds a new stage protegée in the agent's secretary. (British Film Institute (BFI))
