Toyo started writing poems after she turned 90 years old, and over two million copies of her poetry books have been sold. Her poems have inspired a lot of people all over the world, and her books have been sold more than 1.6 million copies and published not only in Japan but also in the UK, Holland, Spain, China, Korea and Taiwan. Why Toyo's words engage our hearts and minds? Toyo passed away at the age of 101 in January 2013. This is the story of a life of a real person Toyo and a love between mother and children. (Shochiku)
