"Petteri is a fantastic teacher," says Sami. Petteri teaches his son Sami traditional crafts of Sámi, the indigenous people living in northern Scandinavia. The Sámi word 'solju' is the name of a traditional brooch, which plays an important role: it keeps the scarf in place. The design and details of the Sámi costume can reveal details of a person's ethnic identity. Solju examines the brooch from two points of view: the craftsman's and the wearer's.
