Experienced conman Nicky Spurgeon (Will Smith) has an affair with the beautiful Jess Barrett (Margot Robbie), an intern he is teaching how to pull off small tricks. After going their separate ways, they meet again three years later and find themselves on opposite sides of the same big con, with Jess now a skilled confidence trickster herself.
