The Masai, an African tribe of herders who have lived for hundreds of years in harmony with nature on the border between Kenya and Tanzania, in recent years have faced violent displacement. First they were expelled from the Ngorongoro and Serengeti national parks, and then their traditional pasture lands in the Loliondo village were acquired from the corrupt Tanzanian government by rich investors from the United Arab Emirates. Here, in the untouched wild, they created a closed hunting area. A young Masai musician raps about the systematic destruction of Masai dwellings and the callous seizure of his people’s land. His voice is heard on the radio throughout the country. Can the Masai defend their resources and the right to use their territory in a modern age? Or is their way of life destined for destruction?
