There aren't many documentaries on migration that address the phenomenon of emigrants returning to their native country. The film Mister & Missis Zhang does so with a great deal of sensitivity to the important life questions the Zhangs ask themselves. After 10 years of exhausting work in economically unstable France, the couple leave their temporary home full of bitterness as they return to their native China. Without money and with the knowledge of unfulfilled expectations, they arrive in a completely new and self-confident country in which their friends have prospered. Now they once again must gather strength for a new beginning, with their mutual support as their only source of certainty. (One World)
