The Deal

A classic thriller, conceived as something exceptional, almost grandiose, where unnecessary emphasis is placed on certain scenes, but that doesn't overshadow its mediocrity. Great visuals, as I've come to expect from Koreans, but the story tries to have elements of The Silence of the Lambs and Seven, but it simply doesn't measure up to them. (21/03/2016)

This film tries to play at being something more than it is, and that hurts it. I found the story both uninteresting and overcomplicated, but there were some positives. The villain is great, his constant smiling is powerfully provoking and the massacre in the hospital is a strong moment in the film. For a debut, the film is visually decent and doesn't bore too much, but it's not enough for 4*. 60%. (04/06/2016)
