Producer Nebenzals remake of his 1932 film DIE HERRIN VON ATLANTIS. OKeefe and Aumont are foreign legionnaires who find a secret passage in the middle of the desert which leads them to the Lost Continent. Montez is the queen of Atlantis, a ruthless woman with whom Aumont falls hopelessly in love. The original director, Arthur Ripley, was replaced by John Brahm; finally Tallas, the films editor, was brought in to clean up as the third director. Footage from the original film (directed by the great G.W. Pabst) was also used. The result was a real campfest with lots of posturing and completely hambone performances.Tthe film developed a minor cult following because it was one of Montezs final films. Also known as Siren of Atlantis. (official distributor synopsis)
