The folk style history and adventure film recalls the clashes between the Hungarian freedom fighters, insurrectionists and pro-Austrian Hungarian and Habsburg troops in the early 18th century. As he is ordered by brigadier Béri Balogh Ádám, the smart Eke Máté is recruiting the poor. They go raiding the pro-Austrians from their camp they have set up in the castle of Tenkes Mountain. They play many tricks on the pro-Austrian colonel in the fortress of Siklós, they even abduct her daughter and occupy his castle. The colonel is crammed into a gunpowder-cask and blown up altogether.
