Hongi (James Rolleston), the son of a Maori tribal chief, seeks to avenge the members of his tribe after an ambush by a rival leaves the majority of them dead. I love movies that are based on real environments, history, and culture, and use a language that is not English and does not fit into the given environment. The Maori culture is certainly interesting, which this film also shows us. However, the most interesting part here are the fights, which are truly amazingly directed. And yes, they are brutal as hell. ()
