Strange incidents of fire keep the inhabitants in and out of a village in Tokaj excited. Rumour has it that a young local resident is able to strike up a fire by his mere presence, and then to disappear traceless. The local police constable starts searching for the boy, but gains contradictory pieces of information from his relatives and neighbours. The interrogation of a scientist, a medium, a fire-chief and a famous female writer is all part of the investigation. Upon the order of the Minister of the Interior, a commando is set up to find the boy, but - through their agents, - even the KGB and the FBI are part of the hunt. Nobody is able to find the boy, who - after having set fire on a wild rose-bush, - leaves for the realm of fairy-tales. (official distributor synopsis)
