Episode 1 (S01E01)

Sidney Chambers is a young, handsome vicar with a complicated past—and even more complicated relationships with women, especially his long-time friend Amanda Kendall. As the religious leader in a sleepy country parish, Sidney's slow life is punctuated by his love of jazz and propensity for whiskey. But soon his routine is turned upside down when a local woman pleads for his help in a mysterious case that the authorities have deemed a suicide. Suddenly, Sidney finds himself working alongside jaded local detective Geordie Keating, and immersed into a world of alibis, clues, and where nothing is as it seems. (PBS)
