French screen legend Jean Reno is the gruff, grizzled leader of a band of much younger rookie cops who resort to unorthodox, unconventional methods to bring in the bad guys. This dirty-cop squad uses baseball bats, intimidation, blackmail and industrial machinery to exact their own brand of law and order. But a new operation has just hit the mean streets of Paris - a group of deadly bank and jewellery heists has detonated mayhem across the city. These master criminals will stop at nothing to get away with their crimes - including the use of mass weapons of war. Riveting, breath-taking, violent and operating at a break-neck pace, this Euro action blockbuster makes Hollywood's versions look tame. (Reel Entertainment)

English In many respects an average action spectacle, but Jean Reno still has a charismatic face (otherwise, unfortunately, it's not worth much, for example, he walks very badly), the shootout scene is good (although it's shot entirely digitally and sparkles like sparklers at Christmas) and the fight in the garage is also good. If it weren't for the brisk direction, it would be good for probably Steven Seagal. ()

English A pretty good crime drama where Jean Reno has a role that suits him, and where he may fit even more than in comedies. It's about being an advocate of the old school, a tough guy who isn't afraid to take action, but his new superior doesn't want cowboys, he wants detectives and investigators. But circumstances demand otherwise, and the tough guy still has his place. It's a good movie. ()
