The film follows Venus 'Vee' Delmonico (Emma Roberts) as she takes part in an online game of truth or dare where she is assigned goals to complete for money. But, as a player, Vee soon finds her every move being controlled by her growing number of watchers, who follow her online as she completes her dares. After teaming up with Ian (Dave Franco), the pair get given a series of dares to complete together, with the money and danger involved increasing each time. As the experience quickly evolves into a life-or-death struggle, Vee realises that the only way to escape the game without losing everything is to win it all. (Lionsgate Home Entertainment)

English This is one of those films where I don't understand why it's so terribly underrated. After all, how else should a thriller look these days? It's got incredible pacing, more suspense than ten good horror movies combined, a likable main character and a handsome lead, so what more could you ask for? I’ve cooled off a bit, but it took a lot for me not to bump Nerve into my top ten list the second I got out of the theater. I’m sure I still won't be able to hold back after the next viewing because it's awesome! ()

English The immensely sympathetic main protagonist, a current new idea and the beautifully colored camera surprised me and turned Nerve into a pleasant experience. The finale is, true, a little barren and the most thrilling scene was the motorcycle ride. However, watching till the end was not as much of a problem as it might seem after seeing the teaser. ()

English I won’t waste your time, Nerve is fine. In terms of Hollywood silliness, it’s not above the average, but it is when it comes to tension and fun. Stripped to the bone, I’d say that the core concept is quite smart and interesting; that some details are problematic when you look deeper into it, that’s another thing. I’d wager that the people who’ve complained about the script would rate better a film with the same script if the style was different and the characters were more serious. To me, that’s like paying attention only to the glossy cover. The posers cringe :D I’m actually sorry to have missed Nerve in the cinemas. Emma Roberts is lovely and she was quite some chemistry with that lad. 7/10 ()

English I don't give a damn about how illogical it was, because I just enjoyed it. Nerve has a likable central couple, a very decent pace, plenty of suspense and a great soundtrack. Far from being just about entertainment, the movie also serves as a warning about the negative impact of modern technology and social networks on the lives of young people. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly makes a couple of cameo appearances as the bad guy and clearly enjoys it. (75%) ()

English A pleasantly modern thrilling ride that is frightening in how real it is and highlights the flaws of our times. Nerve has a nice pace, an attractive Emma Roberts, and playful visuals, and it manages to mine some decent suspense. One of those films that can be recommended to all from both an educational and entertainment point of view. 80% ()
