Dr. Hill has taken his daughter, Lara, to the ruins of a gothic castle in the middle of a dark, haunted forest. When they witness a car crash in nearby woods they take the woman who survives to the castle to recover, but as Lara and the girl become closer friends it awakes witchcraft, vampires and local superstitions in the village. This isn't a great horror, but it's a film that can still make an impact with its atmosphere. It's not overly explicit, and there aren't any great or memorable scenes, but overall, the way the film affects you is something that can captivate you. It's dark, it's somewhat hopeless, and that's something that horror can evoke as well, and in this case, it's quite well done. Definitely an average film. ()
