The Finns living in Karelia called the persecution of 1937-1938 "Iso viha" ("the great enmity"). Stalin's persecution was directed towards all nationalities but Finns suffered the most from arrests, deportations and executions in Karelia in proportion to their number. (Tampere Film Festival)
