Plots(1)

The fictional series explores L.A.'s famed '70s stand-up comedy scene where the careers of legends such as David Letterman, Jay Leno and Richard Pryor were launched. The series delves into the inspired, damaged and complicated psyches of those who stand alone in front of an audience "dying" for fame, fortune and, with any luck, a shot on Johnny Carson. I'm Dying Up Here (2017)

English I really liked the series Kidding (2018) with Jim Carrey, and thus his work as a producer also became part of my binge-watching. ()

Season 1 (2017) (S01)

English The first series is totally fine. We get the pure seventies, some good actors, and humor that isn't cheesy. They're all young and naive, but eventually at least one of them will make it on the dream TV :) Ari Graynor is very good, and I loved Clark Duke when he was in Two and a Half Men. Everything else is about personal taste - either you laugh or you change the channel. It's simple. It's not rocket science. ()

Season 2 (2018) (S02)

English While in the first series we were introduced to the phenomenon called stand-up comedy, in the second series we enjoy more personal stories of individual comedians. For some, it may be better to have a more personal encounter with serial drama, but for others, more boring. So if the Goldie Club bunch grabbed you by the heart, go for it. Because each of them has a story to tell. ()
