Isabelle and her mother have experienced several years of domestic violence. This has left deep wounds in both of them and in their relationship. While the mother is trying to return to her previous life, the lively Isabelle is looking for new ideas. She takes several trips abroad, but a mere change of environment does not bring peace to her soul. This sensitively filmed documentary shows how the two protagonists struggle to break free from the ever-present tension and captures their numerous confrontations with unusual openness. Finally, Isabelle seeks out the help of a therapist to make sense of her past and to break out of the vicious cycle of her life. (One World)
