Mikhail Khodorkovsky spent ten years as a prisoner u/**nder Putin. There were fears that the Russian leader would never let him free. Then in December 2013 an unexpected reprieve came from the Kremlin. Now a free man, Khodorkovsky lives in exile. It was not clear whether President Putin softened or whether he wanted to show a kinder face before the Olympics in Sochi or whether Khodorkovsky was a dangerous prisoner to him. Or had they entered into a secret agreement? Swiss filmmaker Eric Bergkraut corresponds with the once-richest man in Russia during his imprisonment, but tries in vain to visit him. They meet up only in Switzerland and the letters become conversations. The film brings us closer to one stage in the life of a man regarded by some as a genius, by others as a criminal, and whose story is still full of questions. (One World)
