Truth, Nothing, But...

Mohammed Bakri, a Palestinian actor living in Israel, made a documentary in 2002 that examined the Israeli military operation in the Jenin refugee camp that officially aimed to crush militant groups hiding there. He had no idea of the storm the film would unleash. Five soldiers who participated in the operation brought an suit against the film stating that it is propaganda, manipulation, and a deliberately defamation of the Israeli armed forces. A contribution to the debate about the boundary between documentary filmmaking and journalism, whether a documentary must, or even can be, journalistically objective in situations where it is not disinterested.
