The Walkers

For ten years Singing Chen has followed the choreography Lin Lee-chen and her company Legend Lin Dance Theatre. It's about an artist who does not compromise, neither when it comes to storytelling, dance or the costumes. The productions are inspired by spirituality and nature—and show us wonderful pictures from the rehearsals outdoors—but they are at the same time very modern in form. Lin Lee-chen, whose productions have even met success in Europe, is a perfectionist. The question is whether things aren't the same for dancers as for clowns. They spend their entire lives training for a moment in order to imbue it with absolute sensibility. The Walkers is a strongly emotional film that shows that art can be greater than life.
