Herzog expresses his fascination with the clash between science and civilisation on the one hand and the world of the irrational on the other. In Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, he followed the physicians of the ‘Flying Doctors Service‘. Herzog primarily takes an interest in the patients who are treated by these doctors. He shows sympathy and respect for the African patients’ adverse reactions to Western treatments. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
