The Face That Launched a Thousand Ships

Hedy Lamarr's third color film and the only one shot in Italy. After the great success of the biblical epic Samson & Delilah, I would have expected another similar project in Lamarr's filmography, but the original plan for a TV series was too ambitious.  In the end, they stuck with a compromise that still has complicated distribution to this day, and that's a huge shame. However, if you are able to see the film, you'll encounter a fair-haired Hedy, an empirical Hedy, and many other variations of her statuesque beauty. (29/03/2010)
