1914. There is a shooting party at the Meszlényi estate. The world famous composer, Szilágyi Ákos, the lady of the house's ex-lover, who came home from abroad is also present. Magdolna suppresses her old sentiments and stays home with her sick daughter, Klári. 1928. Meszlényi fell in the war. Magdolna and Klári both fall in love with Detky, the writer. They are suffering from guilty conscience because of each other. 1940. Magdolna supports the talented architect, Tímár and opens a café. The man loves her, but finally marries Klári instead. Magdolna is facing happy loneliness and grandmotherhood. (official distributor synopsis)
