Dai is a pregnant Chinese woman who fights for survival and sanity in an Italian villa built on an island, trapped in the whirlwind of immigration since who knows when. She doesn't speak Italian and on the island no one understands Chinese, so she leaves between two worlds: the reality of the inhospitable outside world and the more comfortable fantasy of wishes. As a reaction to the surrounding despair, Dai hides in a cave where she creates her own small Universe, a mix of Eastern mystics and magical thoughts. She hopes to meet soon whit her husband, Zhen, who should be arriving soon in one of the ships that regularly arrive full of immigrants. While she waits there by herself, Dai turns the cave into a shell and fills it with diverse objects, poetry and daydreaming. Her husband and son will feel really well there.
