English I can't help but think that Dejdar seems to be a quality, but very monotonous actor. The Dance Teacher is not guaranteed to be Jireš's best film, as I read in the daily press. It is very nicely shot (Jan Malíř is a guarantee of quality) and sometimes it has quite a nicely written story (Hubač is definitely not one of the amateurs). Unfortunately, the whole thing seems a bit too long and the retrospective insertions make for a very unruly impression. Only the presence of Miloš Kopecký pleases. The atmosphere of the lung sanatorium is hearty, the characters believable and a certain sentiment very acceptable. Basically a pleasant film, which doesn't change the fact that Jireš has better titles. ()

English I would say that this is one of Dejdar's best roles, and from the perspective of today's Czech film productions, the film might even deserve a fourth star. An emotional story about someone dying. Overall impression: 65%. ()
