Plots(1)

Sitting on his porch in a bustling SE Portland neighborhood, 95 year-old Frank Wesley plays his well-worn saxophone while recalling a life full of adventure, loss, love, and melody. In Frank's Song, David Bee creates an extended jazz piece of the historical markers of this man's life, from holocaust survivor, to World War II combat veteran, from psychology professor to renowned author, and finally, jazz musician. The film serves as both document for one man's life, but also for Portland itself, a city of ship builders and jazz musicians in which this spirited survivor found refuge.
