Once upon a time there was a grandmother who was taking care of her six-year old granddaughter while the child’s parents were at work. Impulsive and headstrong six-year old Marina rebelled against the strictness of her grandmother, 75-year-old Marita who expected her to conform to the rituals of her conservative and religious life in a dull industrial town. Marina’s naïve and candid desire of freedom clashes with grandmother Marita’s old-fashioned education. The tensions between the two escalate as the grandmother’s worries and despair grow bigger: the little house in which she has lived for 52 years is to be torn down to make way for modern apartment buildings (DOK.fest München)
