Our planet is located in an absolutely concrete environment that affects it directly. This is the first part of a unique cycle of pop- ular-science films called Silent Threat, presented by the Czech Academy of Sciences, about the ways the Sun can influence the Earth and how our only life-giving star can become a threat. Leading experts in the field of space weather research reveal the secret of aurora borealis; the astronomers invite us to look into their telescopes, aimed not only at the Sun but also at potentially dangerous asteroids near the Earth. This documentary film fur- ther investigates the details about the recent impact of the Che- lyabinsk meteor using a unique system of Czech cameras which capture fast meteorites and bolides, domestically and beyond. Your guides into the world of the Near Universe will are Czech experts and leading scientists of Czech Academy of Sciences. (Academia Film Olomouc)
