Successful businessman Jocelyn is an incorrigible ladies’ man whose desire to score with women whatever the cost, along with his penchant for lies and deception, make for a highly explosive combination. When he sits himself down absent-mindedly in a wheelchair one day, and an attractive, unemployed nurse turns up, he has no idea that, this time, his frivolous game is about to go pair-shaped. Not only does he fall in love for the first time in his life, but he’s now compelled to do something that totally goes against the grain: he has to start telling the truth. A comedy about the preconceptions we should have discarded long ago and about a world in which pathological lying is a greater handicap than being confined to a wheelchair. English A typical romantic comedy with atypical premise. I think that is what every new romcom needs today to get the audience’s attention. However, for me it lacked the humor part. Although Franck Dubosc tried his best, and in some scenes, it is really apparent, I did not really get the humor. At least the film is partly saved by the romantic atmosphere, however, as the viewer knows it is created out of a horrible lie, I did not really have a reason to root for it. ()

English While Hollywood hasn't come up with a good romantic comedy in the last couple of years, the French are back in the royal chair again, coming up with an idea that is original, unorthodox and sufficiently engaging. Franck Dubosc is superb as director, writer and lead actor, and he presents a typically high-powered man who would love to snap up any woman that catches his eye, even at the cost of pretending to be in a wheelchair. Praise also goes to the very likeable Alexandra Lamy and the delightful stretch from Prague. It's more of a romance, there's less humour, but the final twist and the mad rush of emotions more out of poignancy and excitement absolutely drained me mentally. Any film that can make me laugh, cry and surprise deserves an automatic 4*. The music is also great. 80% ()

English The beginning and the ending didn't exactly thrill me, but otherwise, I had a good time through most of it. For example, my eyes were pleased by the beautiful pool scene, my ears enjoyed the pleasant music, and on top of it all, I occasionally laughed heartily. I'm sure I'll watch this rather original romantic comedy again sometime. (75%) ()
