Plots(1)

When four lifelong friends - Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah -  travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there's enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush. English I was expecting this to just be an awkward comedy, which it is, because the characters are whiny, which I absolutely hate, but eventually, you realize that the characters aren't that bad and that you care about some of their fates now and then. At least some of them, anyway. Some of the jokes are also definitely not bad and I laughed at them. However, it is unnecessarily long. ()

English This would-be comedy is dominated by disgust and shrillness. I'd be hard-pressed to find anything to praise here. I can't think of anything other than that the filmmakers wanted to take revenge on the dark-skinned ladies by making a film about them that is this mundane, which was not even saved by a glimmer of thought toward the end in a public speech by presenter Ryan Pierce, in which she openly admitted her disappointment in her marriage.
