I thought this was an above-average fantasy anime with a quite interesting storyline almost worthy of a crime drama, although the idea of "the chosen ones" who are supposed to save the world is a bit of a clichéd trope now. Plus, with such an essentially very simple concept, it is always very important to me that there are good characters and some unpredictable situations, and I have to say that I was very satisfied in that regard. As far as the characters are concerned, Adlet is quite interesting; on the one hand, he is the self-proclaimed strongest man in the world, although his fighting style is very "heroic." I thought that contradiction was hilarious. The princess also looks pretty good because she has fierce fighting skills, which you do not usually expect from princesses; plus, she shows some of her weaknesses from time to time, making her quite a complex character. I liked Flamie practically as soon as she showed up because she is "cool," and it is, of course, not at all related to the fact that I like little girls in black and with big guns. I was equally smitten with Chamot, who looks incredibly cute. I also thought Hans was good because he was completely insane and I like that type of character. The ones that appealed to me the least were Goldof, although he is probably the closest to how I imagine a hero to be, and Maura. As for the twists, I was pretty happy with this aspect of the show, too. Sure I had worked out the first really big twist from the beginning when I read the premise of this anime on AniChart. SPOILER ALERT. However, before the reveal of the "imposter", quite a lot happened, and the ending that introduces another chosen one and there is, therefore, another "imposter" was a really good twist, in my opinion. END OF SPOILERS. Otherwise, the animation strikes me as average, and I enjoyed the soundtrack, so my expectations were pretty much met, and I have to say that I really enjoyed this combination of fantasy adventure and crime drama, and I would happily watch another season. 8/10.
