English I am not a huge fan of Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z, although I still liked them both. DB was a very funny, cute, and sometimes action-packed show. However, I found it was too long in places, and to this day, I am proud of myself for having made it through. I found DBZ to be quite funny, very interesting, and at times a very epic treat because when it came to action-packed anime series, it was just great, and even all the power crap around it before something went wrong had a lot going for it. However, it was once again sometimes very long and the chances of me ever giving it another go with my workload probably is not much of a goer. I watched the first couple of episodes of Dragon Ball Kai, and it seemed to lack the atmosphere. Plus, the WOW effect I sometimes felt when watching DBZ did not come through. I had not seen the movies, so when I watched "Clash of Gods," I did not have much to compare it to. However, if I get a moment, I am going to watch at least the movie that deals with the God of Destruction Beerus Saga. Anyway, now a few words on Dragon Ball Super. I quite liked the opening part devoted to the warrior god. It is quite witty, although the substance and quality are a bit lacking behind the original anime series (the ones I praised). However, I still found it entertaining. The characters are still fine, and I like them as much as I did when I watched them back in the day, and I have grown quite fond of the new ones (especially Beerus), so I have almost no problem with them. I did not experience anything intense until the ninth episode, dedicated to the main male protagonist's transformation into a "Super Saiyan God," which is probably my favorite so far. Certainly, it cannot hold a candle to the original anime series, even though the pacing, humor, character animation, and soundtrack are all quite pleasing. Plus, when I award something, it is either going to be a better three stars or a worse four stars. Unfortunately, the end was followed by a few episodes that brought my overall impression of this show down again to average. However, perhaps it is going to get better again. 5.5/10. ()
