Elderly Alice, haunted by visions of her late husband, yearns to uncover riddles from her past and break free from the walls of her dementia - and her nursing home. Alice’s grandson Guy is led by his lover Luke on a hike through the Rocky Mountains and into parts of himself he had dared not confront. After his benefits get cut, nursing-home worker and family man Ramirez navigates the morass of a middle-class existence - mortgage, health insurance, failing home appliances - while braving the bureaucratic inferno in a desperate effort to keep his family afloat.
