The Mistakes of the Heart

The hero of the story, Holwarth who was the simple worker before he climbed up and became the iron factory manager of the trust, sympathizes with the workers and supports their claims. He is accused that he had instigated the strike, and therefore he is dismissed. The trust President's daughter – who is secretly in love with the director – is very sad when Holwarth has to leave the factory. The dismissed factory director is seduced by a beautiful worker girl, and he marries her. Holwarth devotes all his energies to complete his invention. His wife, who became a fashionable lady, ruins economically her husband, then she escapes. Holwarth through his invention will be a famous man. The trust president's daughter persuade his father to visit the famous inventor, and call back to the factory. The two hearts find each other, and Holwarth re-occupies his old job as a happy groom.
