DC’s strangest group of heroes: Cliff Steele aka Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Larry Trainor aka Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Rita Farr aka Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), and Victor Stone aka Cyborg (Joivan Wade) are back again to save the world - that is if they can find a way to grow up… both figuratively and literally. Following the defeat of Mr. Nobody, the Doom Patrol now find themselves mini-sized and stranded on Cliff’s toy race car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal with Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton), while confronting their own personal baggage. And as each member faces the challenge of growing beyond their own past traumatic experiences, they must come together to embrace and protect the newest member of the family, Dorothy (Abigail Shapiro), Caulder’s daughter, whose powers remain a mysterious but real threat to bringing on the end of the world. English My only criticism of the second season of Doom Patrol is that it isn't longer. At least one more episode, because... well, because I'd really like one. This season was the same as the previous one in a lot of ways, but because of the smaller number of episodes and the fact that the series dealt out the cards so well last time, it could have just gone straight to the point and not wasted its time with anything. Like the protagonists, who get his with a whole lot all at once, and the viewer getting along with them. I actually watched a number of scenes in a number of episodes with moist eyes or outright tears, and no joke, I was even afraid of what was coming next. Despite all that though, the show hasn't lost its perspective and hasn't given up on the bizarre nonsense like its sexual ghosts, which is great. And the biggest trump card is of course the character of Dorothy, but I probably don't need to add that. ()
