During World War II, in a Catholic boarding school in the French countryside, two boys become friends. One is a French boy, Julien Quintin, and the other is a Jewish boy, Jean Bonnet, who is being hidden from the Nazis by the friars who run the school. (StudioCanal UK)

It is unbelievable how it is possible to capture a relatively peaceful image of how one school functions, and at the same time show how history collapses, how people are repulsive, and how they can hate others. It is evident here that there are also good people, but I can't imagine that they are the majority. Or does evil really only require a few individuals? ()
