English Tom Hanks' first significant success, showcasing his comedic talent. Big is a pleasant, feel-good film that plays on children's desire for the "unlimited" possibilities of the world of adults. It stands on a well-constructed script and quality performances. Overall impression: 75%. ()

English I can't help it, but Tom Hanks entertained me so much in this that I just have to rate it very highly. But it's not just about how great he was; it's also about how the whole story is crafted, how it manages to connect the world of children and adults, and how it shows that the beauty lies in the children’s world. This is true. We just have to learn to live with the fact that we'll never be children again, no matter how much we may want to. ()
