This is just a good mood all the way around. The Naked Gun may be unrivalled and its humour a little more punchy, but Police Squad is still an absolute classic in the field of modern parody, which, thanks to its short runtime and excellent casting, has no weak spots. Leslie Nielsen, at the beginning of his great era, rocks just as much as in the films that would follow and breaks down crime as naturally as a garbage can in a parking lot, the mostly simple jokes leave no one cold thanks to their intensity and the deadpan actors, and the perfectly ridiculous closing credits put the crown on everything. If you love The Naked Gun, you’ll love this cult classic. It’s a pity that they made so few episodes.
