Shaping a Void

A tie can be detected in the lives of three very different persons. The tie is the feeling of insufficiency that forms a void into life. Veera, Helmi and Peyman look beautiful and strong, but on the inside, they have all experienced a great desolation. Shaping the void is a documentary film about the feeling of insufficiency and mercy towards the self. The imagery and sound take the viewer to the moment where the world grows smaller and focuses on each person’s performance, without tenderness towards themselves. They are the ones holding the whip. However, the shell needs to be broken before the light gets in. (Tampere Film Festival)
