A writer, Emily, and her good-for-nothing husband Bob, are allowed to live in the estate of Magistrate Norma, Emily's sister. When Emily suddenly disappears, Norma is reminded of the mysterious death of Bob's first wife and she suspects Bob of some foul play, in spite of Bob's reassurances.
