Then Comes the Evening

This documentary depicts the bitter poetry of life of two grannies living isolated lives in the hills of Eastern Bosnia. The film emphasises the intangibility of cultural heritage, through the presentation of chants and rituals for taming adverse weather, hail, and storms. Nature is the entity these women "speak", listen to and respect. It reflects the simplicity and purity of their way of life, as well as their painstaking work. In the daily activities they perform, the excellence and distress of these displays is revealed and revived. The action of the film is made up of everyday life in the countryside, which shows the caring and intimacy of the women, both in their mutual relations, and in their relationship to nature.
