The Soil

One day a rich landlord's daughter is kidnapped by gypsies. She is rescued and taken home by a peasant boy. The young people fall in love with each other, but the noble but humbly born young man can't marry the rich girl. The girl's father opposes the marriage, because he wants a more worthy partner for her daughter. The young man later is innocently accused of murder and he is put in prison. Eventually they find the real culprit and he regains his freedom. The story ends happily and after so much suffering, he can marry the loved girl. (official distributor synopsis)
